What We’re Learning:

SSRW: We will spend time working on letters j, k l and m.  We are also working on identifying beginning and ending sounds.

Handwriting: We continue to learn to use the basic strokes for handwriting.  A song we are sharing with grandparents/special guests is about handwriting (as your child to sing it for you!)

Math: We will continue to work on numbers 1 through 10.

Geography: We will paint a picture of Michigan’s state flower and state bird, and read stories about Michigan.

Bible Story:  We will hear about Abraham and the birth of his son Isaac.  Our Bible verse for October is Psalm 34:1.  See below in the homework section.

Science: We will continue to learn about leaves and trees.

Poetry: We will memorize a poem called, “See You Later”.

Virtue Study:   We are happy to be able to invite guests to be our chapel speakers again this year! If you know a priest or pastor or someone else you think would enjoy speaking to our students and staff about SELF-DISCIPLINE, FRIENDSHIP, GRATITUDE, or FAITH, please contact Anne Poortenga apoortenga@trinitasclassical.org.

Homework

Our verse for October is from Psalm 34:1

I will bless the Lord at all times;
His praise shall continually be in my mouth.” Psalm 34:1.

We have a song that goes with this which we will be singing in morning prayer.

I am sending home two phonics pages to be returned next week or the week after.
