Congratulations to Natalie P. (7th grade) and Gabriel B. (7th grade) who participated in the Regional Spelling Bee on Tuesday afternoon. Natalie was the runner-up! We thank them both for representing Trinitas so well!
We want to thank everyone who helped make Parent Information Night a success! Parents, thank you for visiting with our guests and sharing your experiences at Trinitas. Several of them remarked on our warm and welcoming community! Thank you to those who invited friends, provided food, or helped set up and clean up. We also want to extend a special thank you to the parents and alumni who supervised the students after the program.
We are wrapping up our focus on COMPASSION: caring for and encouraging someone. We hope your family is enjoying stories of compassion in The Book of Virtues and that you have been having some good discussions about ways to put love into action.
Your kindergarten child is an important and cherished part of the community at Trinitas. Right from the beginning, he or she will be a part of wider school activities and has the opportunity to form friendships with students from other grades. Trinitas is a close community where parent participation is encouraged. The self-discipline skills of listening, following directions, cooperating with others, and communicating are taught and reinforced in each grade. The curriculum for each subject has been carefully chosen to engage and challenge students at each grade level and is part of a coherent plan beginning in kindergarten and extending through eighth grade. Kindergarten students pray daily with the rest of the school in Morning Prayer, and a Christian perspective of love for God and for one’s neighbors permeates all we do.
We are expecting as many as 40 guests on Tuesday night! Thirteen families have registered, and we may see more who didn’t register. Parents, your presence is extremely important that night! We hope your conversations with our guests will help them discover what makes Trinitas special.
Please keep these important details in mind for next week, specifically the need for dress uniform and the one hour delay following PIN on Wednesday, February 27.
Next Wednesday is the National Mythology Exam for students in grades 5-8 who signed up with Mrs. Miller earlier this year. The National Latin Exam, which is taken by Latin students in grades 6-8, will be given on Wednesday, March 13.
Watch for more information about Michigan Junior Classical League (MJCL) which will be held on Saturday, April 13.
TCS Reader’s Theater is here! Students in grades 3-6 are invited to participate in our annual puppet plays. We will meet during the last hour of the day on Fridays in March to rehearse and make puppets. The performance will be March 29. This is an optional activity; students not participating will have a study hall.
We are asking that students return a form by Monday to let us know if they will be participating. They must be available to attend all Friday afternoon rehearsals and the performance on Friday, May 29. An absence due to illness or another unforeseen reason will, of course, be understood and excused.
We’re looking forward to another great show!
As we continue to focus on COMPASSION, we welcomed Pastor Brad Zwiers as our chapel speaker this past Wednesday. Ask your child to tell you how Pastor Zwiers’ nephew showed compassion with “puppies” and how we can show compassion like the Centurion in Luke 7.
Don’t forget about the “Try This” ideas as your family looks to put compassion into practice!
All the important details about Parent Information Night remain the same, with the exception of our new date. Please keep these in mind as we prepare for that event on February 26. We will have a one hour delay following PIN on Wednesday, February 27. School will start at 9:00 a.m.
We are expecting several families that night and renewing our efforts to invite more, so please extend an invitation to someone you know!
It’s time to gather those Box Tops you’ve been clipping since October! Please submit them in a bag or on a collection sheet by next Friday, February 22. In the fall, we collected over $100 which was used to purchase P.E. and recess equipment. Let’s see if we can top that amount! Every Box Top you clip makes a difference. Visit the Box Tops website for more information and use the Bonus App to learn about promotions at local stores.
