What We’re learning:
Phonics: Students continue to work on reading with short vowels, digraphs, and sight words.
Math: We will begin to work on subtraction.
Geography: We will read about and paint a map of Asia.
Science: We began a unit called Animals Two by Two. We will be comparing and contrasting goldfish and guppies (postponed from the previous Wednesday due to illness).
Bible Story: We will focus on the story of the Cross and Resurrection.
Virtue: Our virtue for the final quarter of the year is GRATITUDE. The word comes from Latin gratus meaning “pleasing, welcome, grateful, beloved, thankful.” It also comes from Greek eucharistia meaning “thanksgiving.” The art featured on our hall and classroom posters is “The Last Supper,” by Leonardo da Vinci. It highlights both the generous gift and offering of thanksgiving in the Christian sacrament of the eucharist.
