What We’re learning:

Phonics:  Students continue to work on reading with short vowels, digraphs, and sight words.

Math: We will continue to work on addition, as well as numbers to 50.

Geography: We will read about and paint a map of Australia.

Science: We began a unit on motion.  This last week we learned about pushes and pulls, and gravity.  Next week students will experiment with slopes.

Bible Story: We will hear the story of Daniel in the lion’s den.  Our Bible timeline song sings, “Daniel is faithful to God, he’s not hurt by the lions.”

Virtue:  As we cultivate the virtue of LOYALTY, we are also practicing our Discipline with Purpose skills of Distinguishing between Fact and Feeling and Serving and Sacrificing for Others.

Composer: Our music classes are learning about the Romantic period Polish composer Frederic Chopin. Save this link to Ten Famous Chopin Pieces on your phone and listen on your way to and from school.

Homework

For homework I am sending home a digraphs worksheet.  A digraph is two (or three) letters that make 1 sound, such as sh, ch, th, wh, ph, tch.

We will begin learning John 3:16 as our verse for April.
