What We’re Learning:
Phonics: We are beginning to read! Students began with a book called, “A Fast Cat”.
Poetry: We are memorizing a poem called “What Can I Give Him” by Christina Rosetti.
Math: We will work on weight and capacity. This past week we measured the length of the gym and determined that a blue whale, if slightly squished, could fit from end to end.
Geography: We will read about, and make a picture of, Abraham Lincoln.
Science: We will be using fabric in a Christmas project.
Bible Story: We will hear the story of the Israelites in the desert.
Virtue: FAITH takes time. Children learn what is important by how we spend our time. During this season of Advent, talk together about this question: “How can we carve out more time for expressions of faith in the rhythms of each day and week?” Hint: Read through the Gospel of John together using our Advent readings guide! See the all-school newsletter and hard copy going home soon.
Homework
For homework I am sending home a short vowel a word search.
Our verse for December is Luke 2:10-11:
Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. 11 For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.”
