Classroom Notes:

Book Character Day is coming up on March 3.  If your child would like to come to school dressed as a book character, please let me know their selection (so we can avoid duplicates).

Monday – Art
Wednesday – Music
Friday – PE, Chess Club

Feb. 18-19- Mid-winter break, no school

March 3- Book Character Day, come dressed as your favorite character

What We’re Learning:
SSRW: This week we will focus on short vowel i.  We will read  a book called, “Will Jill Sing?”.

Handwriting: We will work on writing letters B, b and P.

Math: We will work on simple addition.

Geography: We began a study of the continents.  This next week we will focus on North America.

Science: We will learn about clouds as part of our study of weather.

Bible Story:  We will hear the story of the Israelites entering the promised land.

Virtue: We begin this quarter’s virtue focus on RESPONSIBILITY with a quote from Booker T Washington that is on our hall and classroom posters: “Few things help an individual more than to place responsibility upon him and to let him know that you trust him.”We might add to Washington’s quote:And patiently help equip him to live up to that responsibility. 


Homework

We will have Show & Tell on Friday; the theme is “something soft”.  I am also sending home a math page for additional homework/practice.

This week we will finish up Psalm 100, then we will begin learning Psalm 23:1-3.
