What We’re Learning:

SSRW: This week we will work on reading blends with r.  We are still working on reading “Miss Kim and the Class”.    We also continue to practice sight words.

Math: We are working on numbers to 20.

ScienceWe will do an experiment with paper and water.

Geography: We will begin a study of the continents, learning about North America.

Bible Story:  We will hear the story of Gideon and the Midianites.

Virtue: Our third quarter focus is the virtue of HONESTY. In his letter to the Ephesians, Paul writes “[P]ut on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to your neighbor, for we are all members of one body.” HONESTY flows from and builds our love of God and neighbor.

Homework

Our verse for January is Psalm 139:13-14

For you created my inmost being;
    you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
    your works are wonderful,
    I know that full well.”

Our Show & Tell is scheduled for Friday.  The theme is “3 facts about an animal”.  You can send in three written facts and I will help your child to share them with the class.
