Our field trip to the Kent County Recycling Center is this Friday.  We will leave at 12:30 and return by 2:30.  If you are not attending/driving with us, please plan to leave your child’s car seat at school that morning.  Interested in joining us?  Please contact Stephanie Sneller at steph.sneller@yahoo.com

Monday – Art
Wednesday –  Music
Friday – PE, Field Trip

What We’re learning:

SSRW: We will read two new stories, “Just Junk” and “Russ and the Gift”.  Students have been identifying and reading with digraphs (sh, th, ch, wh and ph) and practicing their phonics skills by writing nonsense words.

Handwriting: We will work on writing a review of all capital letters and Rr.

Math: We will continue to learn and practice subtraction.  We will also begin to learn how to tell time on a clock.

Geography: We will read about Asia and paint a map of the continent to add to our Geography folders.

Science: We will begin to investigate paper and learn how paper is made.

Bible Story: We will hear the story of Jonah in the whale.

Virtue: In Psalm 46, we hear “Be still, and know that I am God.” FAITH requires stillness. What habits of stillness, especially for mind and spirit, can we cultivate? Talk together as a family and start today.

Homework

For homework I am sending home a phonics sheet.

Our verse for March is Psalm 139:13-14

For you created my inmost being;
    you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
    your works are wonderful,
    I know that full well.”
