Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms! I hope you can join us on Friday (2pm) for Muffins with Mom. There will be a social time for the moms, then students will join you at 2:30.

We anticipate that our chicks will hatch on Wednesday, May 14.

Upcoming Dates to Note:

Friday May 23: Field Day, dismissal at 11:35.

Monday May 26: Memorial Day, no school.

What We’re learning:

Phonics: We learned -ank in words such as thank and sank.  Next week we will add in -ink and -unk.

Math: We will work on both addition and subtraction.

Geography: We will read about Antartica, then add animal stickers to our continents map.

Science: We eagerly await the arrival of our chicks on Wednesday!

Bible Story: We will read about the feeding of the 5000 and how Jesus walked on water.

Music: Fine Arts Night was wonderful!  We are so thankful to have been able to share our musical skills with you. We will finish our general music class with a time of favorite experiences as well as welcoming Mr. Wiers-Windemuller as our Artist in Residency! Mr. W will be introducing guitar to the K-4th graders for the remainder of the school year. We are also preparing our special music for 8th grade graduation.

Virtue: As we reflect on our recent Fine Arts Night, we are GRATEFUL to God for the beauty displayed through music, poetry, dance, and visual art and to all those who helped us prepare for this special evening.


Homework

This week for homework I am sending home a math page.

Our verse for May is Phillippians 4:8
