Print-Friendly Version

Classroom Notes:

Wishing you all a blessed Thanksgiving!

Monday (Nov. 30) –art
Wednesday – music
Friday – PE

What We’re Learning:

SSRW: We are using “The Ferris Wheel” song to practice short vowels.  Students will continue to do activities that reinforce blending with short vowels.   This work builds a strong foundation for reading well!

Handwriting: We will work on writing letters Oo and Aa.

Poetry: We will learn a poem called “What Can I Give Him” by Christina Rosetti

Math: We will learn about comparing numbers within 10.

Geography: We will read about and make a picture of our first president George Washington.

Science: We will learn about birds in winter and make some tasty treats to put outside for the birds.

Bible Story:  We will learn about the plagues in Egypt and the Crossing of the Red Sea.

Virtue Study: When we think of the perseverance of an athlete, we usually imagine vigorous activity; but, an important part of athletic training is rest. Muscles and minds need time to rebuild. We hope that as you and your families continue to persevere throughout this school year, that you will find regular times for rest. May this upcoming break be a time of rejuvenation and blessing for you all and a time of praise and thanksgiving to our Lord for all of His good gifts.

Homework

Thank you for sending in show & tell!  For this next week I am sending home two Thanksgiving/Fall themed dot-to-dots.  Also, you can practice our verse at home too!

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
