What We’re Learning:

Fundations: We will work on short vowel e and letter r.    We are also practicing recognizing beginning and ending sounds in words.

Poetry: We will continue to work on a poem called, “A Wise Old Owl”.

Math: We will practice numbers to ten and learn about ordinal positions.

Geography: We will begin a study of the United States.  For our geography folders we will create a picture of our flag.

Science: We will learn why leaves change color.  Students will be using the leaves collected during the field trip to make a book.

Bible Story:  We will hear the story of Joseph.

Virtue:  As part of our focus on the virtue of WORK, Trinitas students in grades K-2 recited this little rhyme from McGuffey’s Primer for Grandparent/VIP Day. It’s worth thinking about and practicing!

Work while you work, play while you play;

One thing each time, that is the way.

All that you do, do with all your might;

Things done by halves are not done right.

Homework

Our Bible verse for November is 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

We have Show & Tell scheduled next week Friday.  The theme is “two items that rhyme”.   I will have the students show one thing and then their classmates can try to guess the other item.  For example, a sock and a clock.  Or a duck and a truck.  Let me know if you have any questions.
