Virtue Update – GRATITUDE

June 17th, 2022

Our hearts are filled with gratitude for the many volunteers who offered their time and talents to serve our staff and students. We want to thank our Parent Service Fellowship. We thank our outgoing PSF chair, Sarah K., and current chair, Stephanie S., for a seamless transition this year. We are grateful for their leadership and partnership!

We also wish to thank our prayer team and Wednesday prayer time members who have faithfully prayed for the needs of our community this year. Prayer updates will continue to be sent this summer. If you would like to join the team, please contact Mrs. Poortenga.

“Beauty and Worship” Event Registration

June 2nd, 2022

We live in an age of distraction. But what can we actually do about that? What habits of heart and mind are needed to learn and grow in the life of faith? How do we follow the call of Scripture to be still, seek the Lord, and remember His wonderful works?

We are excited to host our Parent Partnership Event, “Beauty & Worship: Building Wonder and Joy in our Churches, Schools, and Homes,” on June 21 at 7:00 p.m. Margarita Mooney Suarez, Founder and Executive Director of the Scala Foundation, and David Clayton, author of The Way of Beauty: Liturgy, Education, and Inspiration for Family, School, and College will give a special presentation with a reception to follow.

While this presentation has been shaped specifically for the Trinitas community, we are extending an invitation to all who might benefit from it and be blessed by it. Please click here to register.

This program is made possible through a Vital Worship Grant from the Calvin Institute of Christian Worship, Grand Rapids, Michigan, with funds provided by Lilly Endowment Inc.

Virtue Update – GRATITUDE

May 27th, 2022

Are you anxious? Did you know that GRATITUDE can be an antidote to anxiety? That’s not from a self-help book or a TED Talk, it’s found in Holy Scripture. Spend some time meditating on and then putting into practice these words from St. Paul to the Philippians: “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:4-7

Notae Latinae (Latin Notes)

May 27th, 2022

Our 5/6 Latin class performed their Latin morning show, “Roma Hodie” (Rome Today), for the other Latin classes this week. Segments included news, weather, sports, cooking, fashion, entertainment, and adopt-a-pet.

Among the many hard-hitting reports, the R.H. team discussed the recent Trinitas Roman election, chariot racing (technically chair-iot racing), the latest toga styles, and some Stymphalian bird trouble. We’re happy to report that the two pets featured on the show—a sleepy baby sea serpent and a retired three-headed guard dog—have a home and are doing well.
