January 30th, 2020 by Trinitas Classical

Congratulations to our students who participated in the Calvin University math competition held at Dutton Christian School on Monday. The students had fun, and Trinitas had the highest school average among the 12 participating schools in the team competition.

Way to go, team! Thank you for representing Trinitas so well!

January Virtue Focus – Work

January 29th, 2020 by Trinitas Classical

McGuffey’s Primer offers this advice for forming good WORK habits:

Work while you work, play while you play;
One thing each time, that is the way.
All that you do, do with your might;
Things done by halves are not done right.

Those words might be even more important in 2020 than they were in 1836!

Students will go to designated rooms for a time of fellowship and games.

Re-Enrollment Notice and Tuition Deposit Deadlines

January 24th, 2020 by Trinitas Classical

Parents will be receiving 2020-21 re-enrollment forms along with the 2nd Quarter report cards. Please take note of the deadlines for re-enrollment and payment of the tuition deposit.

Families who have signed up for Continuous Enrollment:

Notify the office by February 15 if you wish to make a change, i.e., not re-enrolling the same children for the same classes (full-time or homeschool) or delaying a decision. If you have a Continuous Enrollment agreement and are enrolled in FACTS, your 2020-21 tuition deposit and fee will be deducted automatically in March if you do not request otherwise by February 15. Those who pay tuition in full need to submit the 10% deposit by March 5.

Families who are not currently signed up for Continuous Enrollment:

Turn in the re-enrollment form with $50 fee by February 15. The 10% tuition deposit is due by March 5. Please note the $50 fee is waived for families who sign up for Continuous Enrollment and either enroll in FACTS to have the deposit drawn in March or pay the deposit by check by March 5.

Please contact the office if you have any questions. If your tuition deposit is not received by the required deadline as outlined above or on the form sent home, enrollment at Trinitas will be subject to space available.

N.B. Tuition rates remain the same in 2020-21. (We have added the tuition amounts for the new kindergarten enrollment options.) The fee schedule can be found on our website under “Explore Trinitas – Forms and Resources” or by clicking here.

CCE Corner – Listening to Those Who Know More

January 22nd, 2020 by Trinitas Classical

In our last CCE Corner, we talked about how looking for the good helps students thrive. In this lesson, we talk about looking for the good in authority.

Lesson 7. Respect authority: listening to those who know more

The writer of Hebrews instructs us to, “Obey those who rule over [lead] you, and be submissive, for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you.” (Hebrews 13:17)

January Virtue Focus – Work

January 21st, 2020 by Trinitas Classical

As we continue to practice the virtue of WORK this month, it would be good to remember these words from Colossians 3:23-24: “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.”

Fellowship, food, and fun – for your friends and family too! Please invite others to our Game Night this Friday, January 17. Bring a blanket and games to share. Classrooms will be open for board games and mixers. The gym will be open for large group games. We will start at 5:30, but arrive when you can. The games will start wrapping up around 8:30 p.m. We would appreciate clean-up help as it gets closer to 9:00.

You may bring your own dinner, or you may place a Chick-fil-A order to be delivered at 6:00 p.m.

How Do I Study for the GeoBee?

January 16th, 2020 by Trinitas Classical

Use the GeoBee Challenge App, a free and engaging quiz game on your phone or tablet. See image to help direct you to the official app.

Use a student atlas. Review U.S. states, countries, and major physical features in the U.S. and around the world (bodies of water, mountains, etc). Then get more detailed: capitals, state nicknames, basic earth facts (highest and lowest points, etc.). Build your knowledge with other information found in atlases, such as population, religions, languages, animal and plant life, climate, economics, and monuments.

Test your knowledge. There are tools on National Geographic’s website, including the daily quiz. Blank outline maps are another easy way to test your knowledge.

January Virtue Focus – Work

January 16th, 2020 by Trinitas Classical

During the month of January we are focusing on the virtue of WORK. The new year is a good time to cultivate new work habits and attitudes. When we find that we are putting off jobs we should do, it would be good to remember the words of Mary Poppins (and Aristotle long before her): “Well begun is half done.”
