Yard Signs and Bumper Stickers

February 25th, 2022

Help spread the word about Trinitas! Along with inviting friends and family members to the upcoming Parent Information Night (PIN) on March 10, we encourage you to display a bumper sticker and/or yard sign. Contact the office or stop by if you would like either item.

There is still time to ask churches to include a PIN announcement in a March 6 bulletin.

COVID Update from Kent County Health Department

February 25th, 2022

In response to improving conditions following the Omicron variant surge, guidance has now shifted to something that looks and feels more like a strict policy on illness in schools. In other words, the response is becoming more and more like the response to influenza or any other communicable disease. Please follow the guidelines on student illness in the handbook and always call the office if you have questions. We are required to report confirmed or suspected cases of COVID to the Kent County Health Department for monitoring purposes, so office staff may have a few questions for you if your child is home ill.

Here are a few points abbreviated from Kent County Health Department’s communication to schools:

Virtue Update – FAITH

February 25th, 2022

Hebrews 11:1-2 says, “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. This is what the ancients were commended for.” The author goes on to tell about the belief and obedience of great heroes of the faith. Talk together as a family about examples of faith you have seen.

Parent Information Night – March 10

February 11th, 2022

Thank you for telling others about our winter marketing events! We will host an in-person Parent Information Night on Thursday, March 10. While a more structured event than an open house, this night will not involve all families. We could use everyone’s help, however, in spreading the word!

Thoughtful Reader and the Ultimate Questions

February 11th, 2022

We read so that we may understand ourselves, the people around us, and the world around us. As our 5th-8th students learn in literature and composition, we read to help us answer the Ultimate Questions: Who is man? What is man’s purpose? Where is man going? What is man’s problem? What is the solution? While the answers we find as we read are important, the posture we bring to our reading, by simply asking the questions, is equally important. Thoughtful Reader allows us to carve out some time to read and ponder together. We look forward to the discussions of Kenny & the Dragon and Lizzie Bright and the Buckminster Boy on February 25.

Students in 3rd-8th who are not participating in TR will have a study hall during that time. K-2 students will participate in classroom activities after lunch that day to celebrate their Frog and Toad reading.

Virtue Update – FAITH

February 11th, 2022

What habits could your family practice to help grow your FAITH? Talk together about something you’d like to begin together this quarter, e.g., reading Scripture at dinner, singing a hymn or praise song after dinner or before bed, or keeping a family prayer journal. For more ideas, see the Home Materials that were sent with your student. They may also be found in the Helpful Links section of the weekly newsletter.
