What We’re Learning:

SSRW: We will work on letters P, Q and R.  Students are excited about how close we are getting to letter Z!

Handwriting: We will work on forward circles and slant lines, as well as review the four basic strokes.

Poetry: We will work with a poem called “Jump or Jiggle”.

Math: We will work on identifying “1 more” for numbers up to 10.

Geography: We will paint a picture of our state bird, the robin, and add to our Geography folder.

Science: We will continue to learn about leaves and trees.

Bible Story:  We will hear the story of Jacob and Esau.

Character Education:

Our virtue of the quarter is a virtue with two parts. COMPASSION has an affective part (heartfelt sympathy) and an effective part (action to relieve another’s distress). As you read, talk, and think about compassion look for ways to cultivate feelings of sympathy and practice acts of mercy. You can use the suggestions in our Virtue Home Connection poster or come up with your own.

Virtue of the month: Covid-19 has given us all opportunities to be brave in the face of disappointment, frustration, and uncertainty; it is good to remember that the virtue of COURAGE does not require that we feel no fear. “I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.” –Nelson Mandela

Zoom calls: Mondays 11:30 (3rd only), Tuesdays 11:30 (4th only), Wednesdays 11:30 (Primer B only), Thursdays 9am (Primer A only), and Fridays (small groups start at 8:30am). Friday small groups will be replaced by the Field Day Zoom this week only.

Friday SPECIAL Field Day Zoom, info. will come from Main Office.
