• Africa Feast will be Tuesday, March 28. Your student has been assigned an African country to research.

Classroom Notes:

Parent-Teacher Conferences are scheduled for Thursday and Friday November 10 and 11.  We will dismiss at 11:35 on Friday Nov. 12.  I look forward to meeting with all of you for conferences.  Please see the most recent all-school newsletter for the sign up link.

Speech Meet is Wednesday, Nov. 16.  Thank you for choosing a piece, they all look great!  Please help your child to start memorizing their selection now.

Thursday –PE; ArtPrize visit 9:30 am to Noon. Wear PE uniform informed by the weather forecast.
Friday – Tests: History Ch.2, 3’s,  spelling, Latin Ch. 2, Bible memory, and creation days.

• Empty home folder on Friday or Saturday; check for any homework to complete and return on Monday.
• Your student is using an assignment log (homework composition notebook). The assignment log will travel home each day, Monday through Thursday. Please check it daily.
• Math fact cards go home Monday and can stay at home to be practiced daily.
• The history sheet goes home Monday and should come back to school on Tuesdays.
• Review papers and homework log each night as you support your student’s study skills.

Classroom Notes:

Monday – Art, 100th Day of School.  We will celebrate with 100 themed activities.  I am sending home a request for each student to bring in 100 pieces of a trail mix that we will combine and have for snack that day. That note is taped to your child’s folder.  Please let me know if this does not work for you.  Thanks for your help.

Wednesday – NOT a color day for kindergarten (this is an earned color day for 1st-8th graders), Music, 5th-6th grade students will share Latin storybooks that they made with us.

Thursday-Awards and Graduation Night.  We will recognize the Kindergartners on stage with certificates.  They should arrive in dress uniform at 6:50.

Friday – Last Day, COLOR DAY, dismissal at 11:35.  All-school picnic to follow at Pinewood Park.  See the all-school newsletter for details.  This is a wonderful way to wrap up the year and I hope you all can join us!

What a joy it has been getting to know your kids this year!  Thank you for entrusting them to me.  I hope you all have a wonderful and restful summer.

What We’re Learning:

SSRW: We will practice the phonics skills we have learned with summer themed reading and writing.

Handwriting: We will finish up our handwriting books.

Math:  We will celebrate our 100th day of school on Monday with 100’s day themed activities.  On Wednesday we will have summer themed math activities.

Geography: We will do a craft that summarizes our study of geography this year.

Science: We will conduct experiments with motion.

Bible Story: We will hear the story of Jesus’ Ascension.

Virtue Study:  On Memorial Day, we remembered and offered our GRATITUDE for all those who gave their lives in service for our country. If you know someone who is currently serving or previously served in the military, find the opportunity to thank them and their family for their sacrifices.

Classroom Notes:

As the weather warms up, the playground gets muddier! An extra set of clothes in the locker (including underwear and socks) is very helpful for if your child falls into a mud puddle or has some other mishap at recess. Rain or snow boots at recess are also very helpful.
